Building Relationships, Creating Opportunities, Delivering Results

My Purpose & Passions

My Family - I first joined my family back in 1969, was fortunate to start my own in 1995 with my wife, Jenn and then added a new generation with the arrival of our son and daughter, Graham and Reece in 2006.

Graham's Foundation - Our son, Graham and daughter, Reece were born far too early, at only 25 weeks gestation. We lost Graham after only 45 days and Reece was in the Neonatal Care Unit for 4 months.  Graham's Foundation provides care packages that offer practical and emotional support for the parents of micro-preemies during their journey.

Connections - It may seem obvious that connecting is a passion of mine with my website, NicktheNetworker, but "networking" has changed dramatically with the explosion of online networking communities like LinkedIn and Facebook.  I have developed my own personal guidelines for using the online versions of networking, which you can read here.  For me, connecting is about taking the time to understand your purpose and passion, goals and ambitions, what you like to do for fun, etc. and if possible, finding a way that I can be of help to you.

Structures - I am most proud of the structure my wife and I created, along with the help of Xten Architecture.  It is our home, known as the Surfhouse, near the shores of the Pacific Ocean in Hermosa Beach, CA.  (See Xten website, Project List, Surfhouse).  My primary interest with structures is how they impact our mood, feelings, emotions and as a result, our actions.

Writing and Music - I enjoy writing sing-song poetry, arranging a handful of cowboy chords, and trying my best to sing in tune.  I love to listen to all types of music, but the channels I go to first The Loft on XM and WFUV out of Fordham University

Basketball and Golf - I love to play, watch, talk hoops...and one of my fondest memories as a kid is watching golf tournaments on Sunday afternoons with my Grandfather.  I still tune in on a regular basis and have begun to take my golf game a bit more seriously, with a goal of bringing my handicap down to a 2 by 2012.
